Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
PullAPI provides web data collection APIs designed for legitimate, lawful data collection from publicly available sources. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the permitted and prohibited uses of PullAPI's services and applies to all users who access our APIs, whether directly or through the RapidAPI marketplace.
This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the PullAPI Terms of Service. By using PullAPI's APIs, you agree to comply with this policy in addition to all other applicable terms. Capitalized terms not defined in this AUP have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms of Service.
PullAPI reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any use of its services violates this AUP.
2. Permitted Uses
PullAPI is built to support legitimate data collection from publicly accessible web pages. The following are examples of expressly permitted uses of our services:
- Market research and competitive intelligence — Monitoring public pricing, product availability, and market trends to inform business strategy.
- Price monitoring and comparison — Tracking publicly listed prices across e-commerce platforms, real estate listings, or service providers for comparison analysis.
- Academic and journalistic research — Collecting publicly available data for scholarly work, investigative reporting, or data journalism projects.
- Lead generation from public business listings — Gathering contact information and business details that are publicly displayed on directories, review sites, and professional networks.
- Real estate market analysis — Analyzing publicly available property listings, valuations, and market statistics for investment research, appraisals, or portfolio management.
- Aggregation of public reviews and ratings — Collecting publicly posted reviews and ratings for sentiment analysis, reputation monitoring, or consumer research.
- SEO monitoring and SERP analysis — Tracking search engine results, keyword rankings, and public website metadata for search engine optimization purposes.
- Business intelligence and data analytics — Using publicly available data as inputs to analytics platforms, dashboards, or decision-support tools for internal business operations.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Any lawful use that involves the collection of publicly available data and does not fall within the prohibited uses described below is generally permitted. If you are unsure whether your intended use is acceptable, contact us at abuse@pullapi.com before proceeding.
3. Prohibited Uses
You may not use PullAPI's services for any of the following purposes. This list is not exhaustive, and PullAPI reserves the right to determine that other activities not explicitly listed here constitute a violation of this policy.
3.1 Privacy Violations
- Collecting data that is behind logins, paywalls, or other access controls, or using PullAPI to circumvent authentication mechanisms on any website.
- Building profiles of individuals for the purpose of surveillance, stalking, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Collecting personal data of minors (individuals under the age of 16, or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction) for any purpose.
- Circumventing privacy settings, access restrictions, or technical measures designed to limit the visibility of personal information, or accessing non-public information about any individual.
- Using PullAPI in any manner that violates the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or any other applicable data protection or privacy law.
3.2 Illegal Activities
- Using PullAPI for any purpose that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Engaging in or facilitating fraud, identity theft, phishing, social engineering, or any other deceptive practice.
- Distributing malware, viruses, trojans, or any other malicious software or code through or in connection with PullAPI services.
- Systematic copying, republication, or redistribution of copyrighted content obtained through the API in a manner that constitutes intellectual property infringement, including creating databases that substantially replicate a source website's proprietary content.
3.3 Harmful Activities
- Using PullAPI to conduct or facilitate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, service disruption, or intentional overloading of any target website or third-party service.
- Sending spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or automated communications using data obtained through PullAPI.
- Creating fake accounts, posting fake reviews, generating artificial engagement metrics, or otherwise manipulating online platforms using scraped data.
- Engaging in ad fraud, click fraud, impression fraud, or any other form of fraudulent digital advertising activity.
- Using PullAPI to power automated purchasing systems, including sneaker bots, ticket bots, or any tool designed to gain an unfair advantage in purchasing limited-availability goods or services.
- Manipulating prices, markets, or public perception through the systematic or coordinated use of scraped data.
3.4 Service Abuse
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing PullAPI API access or credentials to third parties, or offering a service that merely proxies or wraps PullAPI endpoints.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying technology of PullAPI's services.
- Attempting to circumvent, bypass, or manipulate rate limits, usage quotas, or any other technical restrictions imposed by PullAPI or RapidAPI.
- Using PullAPI in any manner that degrades performance, availability, or reliability of the service for other users, including generating excessive or abusive request volumes.
4. User Responsibility for Data Compliance
PullAPI provides the technical means to collect publicly available data. You are solely and entirely responsible for ensuring that your collection, storage, processing, and use of data obtained through PullAPI complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
In particular, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You must have a lawful legal basis for collecting, processing, and storing any personal data obtained through PullAPI, including but not limited to the requirements of the GDPR, CCPA, and any other applicable data protection legislation.
- You must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect any personal data you obtain through the API, including encryption, access controls, and data minimization practices.
- You must promptly honor data subject rights requests (such as access, rectification, erasure, and objection requests) relating to personal data you have collected through PullAPI, in accordance with applicable law.
- You must not retain personal data obtained through PullAPI longer than necessary for the stated purpose of collection, and must securely delete it when it is no longer needed.
PullAPI does not provide legal advice. If you are uncertain about the legal requirements that apply to your use of scraped data, you should consult qualified legal counsel in your jurisdiction before proceeding.
5. Enforcement
PullAPI monitors usage patterns to detect potential violations of this Acceptable Use Policy. Monitoring may include automated analysis of request volumes, endpoint usage, and behavioral patterns.
If PullAPI determines, in its sole discretion, that a violation of this AUP has occurred or is likely to occur, PullAPI may take one or more of the following actions, with or without prior notice:
- Warning: Issuing a written warning identifying the violation and requiring immediate corrective action.
- Suspension: Temporarily suspending your access to PullAPI services, in whole or in part, pending investigation or remediation.
- Termination: Permanently terminating your access to PullAPI services and all associated API credentials.
- Legal action: Pursuing any available legal remedies, including injunctive relief and claims for damages.
Where PullAPI has reason to believe that a user's activity constitutes a criminal offense or poses an imminent threat to public safety, PullAPI may report the activity to the appropriate law enforcement authorities and cooperate with any resulting investigation.
No refunds, credits, or compensation will be provided for any period of suspension or following termination that results from a violation of this Acceptable Use Policy.
6. Reporting Abuse
If you become aware of any use of PullAPI that you believe violates this Acceptable Use Policy, applicable law, or the rights of any third party, please report it to us immediately.

Please include as much detail as possible in your report, including the nature of the abuse, any relevant URLs or API endpoints, and any evidence you have. All reports are treated confidentially and will be investigated promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
PullAPI reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, post a notice on the PullAPI website.
Your continued use of PullAPI services after any modifications to this AUP constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you must immediately discontinue your use of PullAPI services.
It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically to remain informed of any changes.
